Quote to Remember
You get some pretty dramatic results when you get teachers in conversation about student work that is deep and built around common expectations and standards. Teachers are learning to speak the language of writing, which is to talk to kids about what revising looks like, to talk about what kids mean and want to say, to help them understand what peer editing looks like--not just in correcting spelling and punctuation.

It's a shame we aren't rich instead of so good lookin'.
Photo 1: Radio City Music Hall never hosted an act any better looking than this bunch. From the far left to the far right, this is no finer line-up of breasticles.
Photo 2: Get a load of that coy pose from Danielle. What a temptress!
Photo 3: I had to run out to the garage and rummage around my car for an old pair of glasses to verify that it WASN'T my scrotum hanging out of my shorts. What was I thinking sitting on the front row? OY!
OK, I just saved them as larger files than they appear on the blog, and it's easy to tell that it's my hand and not my scrotum. However, I can also see that in the middle photo of the Fatettenamese contingent, Danielle's come-hither posturing is secondary to the expression and flexing of Mike-of-the-Jungle. Good gawd, that's a fun picture.
